Star came to Cabinwood Farm  out of  a herd reduction in Wathena, Kansas. We thought we were done buying for 2006 when Star was offered to us and we just couldn’t resist! The Crims of Assphalt Acres were kind enough to purchase Star from KansAss Acres and then deliver her  to us on their way to a wedding here in Ohio! Star is a beautiful dark sorrel with impressive muscle tone and bone structure and with excellent conformation. She has a small white "star" in the middle of her forehead.

* Star gave birth to Cabinwood's Bette Pauline, a beautiful dark, dark cherry brown jennet foal on March 30, 2007!

* Star gave birth to Cabinwood's "Guns" Donovan, a handsome dark sorrel jack foal on June 18, 2008! Gunny has the same small white "star" on his forehead that his mom does!

“Spitzy”(as we call her here at Cabinwood) came to our farm through the same herd reduction out of Wathena, Kansas as our sorrel Star.  The Crims of Assphalt Acres also purchased Spitzy from KansAss Acres and then delivered Spitzy and her pasture-mate Star to us on their way to a wedding here in Ohio! Spitzy is blessed with a heavy stocky build, nice round rump, and a great conformation. Her very dark brown color shimmers in the sunlight and she has just the touch of a smile on her face all the time!

Spitzy was pastured with Ozark's Red Sierra and is in foal for a late June 2008 birth.

*Spitzy  was bred to HR Frisco for a 2007 foal. She foaled in March 2007 giving birth to Cabinwood's very first foal on March 13, 2007. Cabinwood's JW the Duke, a handsome milk chocolate brown jack.

We went to Lancaster for one reason only...to buy Possum.... and we were SO surprised when we got there to find that she came with a week old jennet foal at her side!! We never thought we would get her but WE DID! Possum and her foal little MyTy are near and dear to my heart and we hope to have a Cabinwood Farm Ivory foal here in the future.

Chutney arrived the day after Thanksgiving 2007 from Becky Zeune's BeZes Minis in Danville, Ohio. She will be our senior breeding jennet here at Cabinwood bringing with her a great foaling record along with a lot of experience and one of the most beautiful face and heads I've seen on a donkey! She is a solid gal with great bone and A-1 traditional conformation all the way around.

We welcome Chutney to Cabinwood Farm and Thank Becky Zeune for allowing us to purchase her.

Chutney gave birth to a sweet little gray-dun jennet foal on April 4, 2008 out of sire Windcrest's Little Bentley, a handsome dark brown and white spotted 32 inch jack. Kaitie Beth can be seen on our 2008 foal page.

Tyllie is one of the sweetest little donkeys you've ever seen! We are so thrilled to have her and hope she will be here at Cabinwood Farm for a long time to come. She came to us in a round about way from Hedrick's Exotic Animal Farm in Kansas.  We have added her to our Ivory breeding program and hope that her great solid build, gorgeous behind and personality plus will be an excellent asset for us in our future ivory breeding.

Brianna, along with her half-sister Olivia, was one of our very first donkeys purchased in our premiere donkey summer of 2006. This petite brown beauty shares a sire, Highland Meadows Mac, with her sister Olivia and has a strong pedigree that includes My World and Rearview ancestors. She was purchased as a yearling from Steve and Jill Crim of Assphalt Acres in Manilla, Indiana. Brianna is one of our smallest donkeys, measuring so far at just a nudge over 30 inches! She also is our most quiet and loving girl. She’s always ready for a hug or a rub and you could take her anywhere and she’d never complain! She and Olivia are referred to here at Cabinwood as the "Snoop Sisters!"

Olivia and half-sister Brianna were our very first donkeys here at Cabinwood Farm. Olivia is a lean black/dark brown jenny with Arrow Creek, Flight of Fancy and LN breeding in her pedigree. She was also obtained as a yearling from Steve and Jill Crim of Assphalt Acres. Olivia holds the distinction of being our friendliest donkey. You have to keep an eye on Olivia! She is “always” underfoot, under your arm, under your shirt, in your pocket, and always the first in line for dinner or to meet someone new in the barn! She and Brianna  are referred to here at Cabinwood as the "Snoop Sisters!"

Olivia, in her usual Houdini fashion, let herself and 4 other donkeys out of the barn gate last summer and ended up in the breeding pasture by mistake!!! Luckily no one was injured on the road...BUT...OLIVIA, the only jennet in heat at the time, was bred by our always efficient herdsire Red Sierra! This was certainly sooner than she should have been but gratefully she is healthy and doing well and is expecting a late June 2008 foal!

* Olivia gave birth to the most wonderful and handsome dark brown jack foal on June 18, 2008. His name is Cabinwood's Big Jake!

Cisco and Sons' Cabinwood Jacette

Dam: Cisco and Son's Violet (1988) 30 1/4"  Dk Brn

Jacette came to us from Pam Thomas of Michigan’s Cisco and Sons' Miniature Donkeys. Jacette is the half sister to Cisco and Sons' Little Tyke, both sharing the Dam Cisco and Sons' Violet. Jacette has filled out in her maturity with a great bone structure and excellent conformation. It’s our hope that she will add an old world touch to our breeding program and continue a great line from the past.

Jacette was exposed to Big Woods Secret Weapon before he left Cabinwood and hopefully will give us a Weapon foal in 2009!

Randolph Ridge Bella Rose

DOB: September 6, 2005  37"

MDR # 45619  ACOSA # 2171 **Tri-color Spot

Sire: Oak Ridge Jackson (1998) 33 1/2" Gray/White Spot

Dam: Rolling Ridge Stormy Lee (2001) 34" Tri-color Spot

Bella Rose was our first Ohio donkey purchase. She came to us as a yearling from Adel Corder and her family from the small Southeast Ohio town of Bloomingdale. Big Bella (as she is lovingly referred) is a beautiful tri-spotted donkey girl with a full pedigree. But, as her nickname implies, Bella is our biggest donkey girl now after continuing to grow right past the miniature donkey standard!!. Despite her size, she is as graceful as a swan and just as pretty! She adds a lot of color to our pasture, she is the neighborhood favorite, and it's hard not to love her as she is a farm and barn comic character!

Bella was exposed to Big Woods Secret Weapon before he left Cabinwood and hopefully will give us a Weapon foal in 2009!

We were so excited when Steve and Jill Crim offered us Nicoal to add to our herd and buddy up with our other new FSW weanling girl Celina! We are so impressed with her great stocky and solid build and her even better looking backside! She has great conformation, an impressive pedigree and her color....WOW...under one of the thickest weanling winter coats I've seen she is so BLACK! Nicoal is a real asset to our future breeding program and most of all she has personality plus!

Little Friend’s Celina

DOB: September 14, 2006

MDR # 48065  *Frosted Spotted White

Celina had to be one of the prettiest little delicate foals I had ever seen so, when I found her on Nadia O'Bryan's site at Little Friends in Kentucky, it was love at first sight. We waited and waited impatiently through the long and cold winter until Celina was old enough to be weaned and come make the trip to Cabinwood. Steve Crim made a journey to Kentucky for us and took Celina back to Assphalt Acres so she could get acquainted and bond with her new friend Nicoal and then he brought them both to Cabinwood Farm together the following week! These two little girls make quite a contrasting picture when together in the pasture!

C & L's Lady's Margarita

DOB: July 10, 2006   MDR # 49862 ACOSA# SA2319

*Brn/Gray & White Spot

View Full Pedigree
Sire: Ozark Tomahawk 32 1/2" Brn/white spotted
Dam: C & L's Lady 34 1/2"
Ivory, Blue-eyed White

We purchased Margarita (Rita) from Chuck and Lorraine Chudomelka of C & L Miniature Donkeys at the very first Heart of America donkey auction in Carthage, Missouri, October 2007. We were unable to attend but did bid on the Internet and then our good friends the Crims' of Assphalt Acres were nice enough to bring Rita back to Indiana with them. A week later my son Jason and I drove out to Manilla and brought her back to Cabinwood. Rita is a very, very sweet little girl and gets along well with our other two yearlings Celina and Nicoal. We are happy to have Rita here with us and hope she will mature into the beauty we know she can be!!

The Upstarts of Cabinwood Farm

RJR's Blazin Wyldfire

DOB: August 27, 2007   MDR # 51691

*Gray/White MSF
Sire: RJR's Cold Blizzard    33" Spotted Ivory, Blue-eyed White
Dam: RJR's Annabelle        31 1/2" Gray-dun

Wyldfire and her half-sister Pebbles were purchased from Michele Johnson at RJR Miniatures in Kansas during the Spring of 2008 as additions to our ivory breeding program. Both girls are Ivory carriers with a common spotted ivory sire RJR's Cold Blizzard. It is our hope that when they reach maturity that can help give us some great diversity in our program and deliver some great new blood into our ivory line.

Wyldfire is small with excellent conformation all the way around and has such a wonderful personality!

Many thanks to Michele Johnson for this great yearling!

Cabinwood's Rockin Pebbles

DOB: July 17, 2007   MDR # pending

*Gray/White MSF
Sire: RJR's Cold Blizzard    33" Ivory, Blue-eyed White
Dam: RJR's Sara Beth NR  Gray-dun

Pebbles and her half-sister Wildfire are great additions to our future ivory breeding program! Both of these girls are stuck together like glue and often times seem to move as one donkey where ever they go! So similar to her sister it's is a good thing that Pebbles is a little larger than her sister and has a bit more rounder behind...if not, we might never be able to tell them apart!

Pebbles came without registration but she is being inspected and will soon have her own identity! We are so excited to have Pebbles and Wyldfire here at Cabinwood!!!!!
